    There it is in a nutshell. The top five things Mitt will defund to get to that trillion dollars. The easy ones. I'm going to dismiss the Affordable Care Act for this blog and write about it at a different time. There are some very good things in it and some not so good things but its a well known fact that doing away with it now would actually raise the deficit.     That leaves Planned Parenthood, a program that last year performed 4.2M STD/STI tests, 3.6M contraception services, 1.5M cancer screenings, 1.1M pregnancy tests and prenatal services and, yes, 300,000 legal abortions without using federal funds.     NPR/PBS, which consists of 900 community run radio stations and 354 community run TV stations.     NEA, which distibutes grants to museums, theater and dance groups and historical societies throughout the country. The Vote

    First off, a tip of the cap to the County Board of  Elections and the polling workers there. Great set up and very friendly folks. I highly recommend it. Plus it's a great place to see what 50,000 political signs look like on 1,000 sq. ft. of grassy space. Mind blowing.    I try my best to look at policy when voting and this year was tough, so little of it is getting through the noise. So the first thing was to throw out all the noise, starting with the womanizing and misogyny crap. First off if you were shocked by Donald Trumps leaked tape, welcome back from that rock you've been living under. I used to be a big Howard Stern fan and Donald was a frequent guest on the show. Back then I was a little shocked at some of the things he said, with my usual reaction being, "what a dick". Thoughts and Prayers.

    "Prayers for the victims, families, students, & faculty at Umpqua Community College, & the community of Roseburg, Oregon." John Boehner     "Praying for Umpqua Community College, the victims, and families impacted by this senseless tragedy." Jeb Bush     I could go on and on but you get the picture and the fact is this is all we're going to get. Thoughts and prayers, until the next mass murders when there will be more thoughts and prayers. I'm not really sure how prayers are going to help the victims in Oregon though, they're already dead. They gave their lives so others can exercise their rights and enjoy their freedoms. It's the path we've chosen for this country and one can scream to the top of their lungs for gun control and it's not going to change a thing.
