Outrage is Easy

I decided last night that each time I saw another Romney lie I needed  to respond to it, I didn't fully comprehend at just how busy I might be. Here is the latest lie, and its not even a good one, but it helps to stir the emotions of those who don't know better. This is the post he put up on facebook today and it is so devoid of facts and so full of hysteria that even his friends at Fox News have had to come out and state the truth, "the lawsuit does not restrict the ability of military personnel to cast an early ballot."

"President Obama's lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state’s early voting period is an outrage. The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote. I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I'm entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I'll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them."

The lawsuit has nothing to do with taking away early voting for the military and everything to do with restoring the privilege for everybody. Just like many other Republican legislatures, Ohios' has done everything they can do to limit the vote in the past year (notice I said the past year, the closer you do it before the election limits the time the people have to fight back) and this was just one of many voter suppression tactics they used.
So, in an effort to get our privilege returned to us, the Romney campaign distorts the truth and riles up his base. And it works, so far far his post has over 75,000 likes. You see, its much easier to be outraged by a lie than it is to seek the truth, and Romney is taking that to the bank. (an offshore bank of course).
